"Going To The Olympics", 2012 | Serigraph. Image Size: 20" x 53"  Price on request

Frank Romero’s Going to the Olympics (2012) is a limited edition serigraph that draws inspiration from his well-known 1984 mural created for the Los Angeles Summer Olympics. The original mural, which stretched along the Hollywood Freeway, celebrated the city’s vibrant car culture and Chicano heritage through lively imagery of families driving toward the Olympic Games. In 2012, Romero reimagined this iconic work as a hand-pulled serigraph, measuring 20 by 53 inches, and produced it in a signed, numbered edition. The print preserves the mural’s vivid colors and energetic style, making it accessible to collectors and admirers of his art. By translating a monumental public artwork into a smaller, fine art format, the serigraph allows a wider audience to engage with Romero’s legacy and the cultural history his work represents. The piece has been featured in exhibitions and is occasionally available through galleries and online art platforms.
